UK Immigration Numbers Getting out of Control:migration
Immigration News 01.06. 2011
Â
Whenever anyone brings up immigration in the UK, people have a lot of different takes on it. There is no denying the fact that it is a very touchy subject for people to talk about. However, according to some ministers in the UK, the immigration issue is “getting out of control.†This statement was brought on after some new figures showed that immigration rose to near record levels last year.
It seems like there is very little chance that these numbers are going to drop by a lot this year. These same figures went on to show that net migration in the UK has actually risen to its fastest rate since Labour opened Britain’s doors to workers from other Eastern European states. In fact, overall net migration, which is the difference between immigration and emigration, was 242,000. This is the third highest on record overall.
So what does this mean? Well it means that many Brits are starting to fear for their job safety. Since the job market is already weak, it becomes even harder for Brits to find a job. The more competition there is, the harder it is to find a job. Some Brits have even pointed out that they are having a hard time finding low skill jobs as well. In fact, most of these jobs go to Eastern Europe migrants that come to the UK.
Now the question these minsters are asking is: What is the government going to do about it? Of course, this is the same question that many Brits are currently asking as well. Now it is going to be up to David Cameron to continue his fight on immigration and decrease the unemployment rate in the UK.
